Yes, you too can compost!

Learn the basics of composting and grasscycling at the John Janzen Backyard Compost Education Centre. Two-hour workshops cover the basics of the composting process, what to expect from your ingredients, and tips and tricks to make it work - fast!   

Our compost educator will help you choose the method that's right for you. Workshops are held at the John Janzen Nature Centre. Participants who are residents of Edmonton may purchase an Earth Machine compost bin (pictured above) or compost aerator at a reduced cost.

Backyard composting workshops
