As part of their jobs, teachers are responsible for the health and safety of children. Edmonton's Emergency Services offers informative resources and tools for teachers to help their students learn about safety.
Risk Watch
Risk Watch gives teachers, parents and safety advocates the tools to teach kids to make positive choices and prepare for unexpected events. Risk Watch was developed by the National Fire Protection Association. The fire prevention curriculum addresses the top eight injury areas to children:
- Motor vehicle safety
- Fire and burn prevention
- Choking prevention
- Poisoning prevention
- Falls prevention
- Firearm injury prevention
- Bike safety
- Water safety
