Firefighter Recruitment Threshold Knowledge Test
The threshold knowledge test assesses the following skills:
- Rank structure
- Self-contained breathing apparatus operation
- Fire chemistry
- Hose and appliances
- Ground ladders
- Ropes and knots
- Salvage and overhaul
- Tools and equipment
- Ventilation
- Vehicle extrication
- NFPA 1001 Theory
Note: The test is not limited to the above areas.
Study material is provided to applicants at least six weeks prior to the test date. The test is timed and applicants must attain a grade of at least 70%.
Note: The firefighter recruitment process is subject to change.
