Emergency Operations Centre Management
Course Description
The intent of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to carry out their responsibilities as a member of the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) team. The course will introduce the participants to the inter-relationships between emergency management teams that may be unique to the partnering organizations.
Intended Audience
This course is intended for, but not limited to:
- City personnel with a role in the EOC
- Partner agencies, such as Capital Health Region, EPCOR and ATCO
- Non-government agencies such as Salvation Army, Canadian Red Cross
- Volunteer organizations such as ARES
Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this course, you should be able to:
- Describe how an Emergency Operations Centre can be activated to support the incident site
- Describe how an Emergency Operations Centre can be organized to manage information
- Describe the relationship between an Emergency Operations Centre and other emergency management teams and functions such as the incident command post (incident site), the Senior Management Team and other emergency operations centres

This is a one day course taught at the City of Edmonton Emergency Operations Centre. Class time is 0830-1600 hrs.
