A No-Show is a trip that cannot be completed because:
- The driver is unable to find the client at the pick-up location
- Client cancels their trip at the door
- Client cancels their trip less than 30 minutes before their pick-up time
No-Shows are also known as No-Trips or No-Cancels
There is an increasing demand for DATS service. Your cooperation in phoning DATS promptly if you no longer need your trip will help us provide better service for all passengers. This saves us from making an unnecessary trip and may allow another customer to use the trip.
Drivers can only wait a maximum of 5 minutes for a client before leaving to do other scheduled trips. Drivers can not search a building or other areas for clients not present at the scheduled pick-up. Drivers should not lose sight of their vehicle for the safety of the other passengers already on board.
When a client no-shows on their pick-up trip (trip from their residence), DATS automatically cancels their return trip. If the client finds their own way to their destination, they must call and ask to have their return trip activated if they still need the return trip. With your cooperation, we can decrease the number of no-shows and therefore have more trips available for everyone. When a trip is no longer needed, call as soon as possible to cancel it. This gives other DATS customers an opportunity to book another trip in its place.
DATS is currently installing Mobile Data Computers in all vehicles. The Mobile Data Computers have equipment to verify the vehicle was at the pick up address and waited 5 minutes before carrying on. Therefore, we will have much better information to determine where the DATS vehicles are at all times.
Remember to cancel subscription trips when on holidays from work or when programs are not operating (Christmas, summer. ).
