Treat it Right!® Storm Water - Constructed Wetland Field Trip for Grade 5

As a part of the Treat it Right!® Storm Water Program, Drainage Services offers a free-of-charge, in-class presentation and field trip to a constructed wetland to Grade 5 classes in Edmonton.

Treat it Right!® Storm Water links to Grade 5 Science and focuses on Wetlands, Weather, and Classroom Chemistry. This program is designed to teach students about the role the constructed wetlands play in the drainage system. Students are led through simple monitoring and assessment activities to help them learn about these wetland ecosystems.  By changing what they dump and rinse down the storm water system, students help protect the North Saskatchewan River and ultimately the environment.

Booking for a field trip and presentation for Spring 2012 is available, please contact Lynne Holzman, B.Ed. @ 780-966-9581 or email: treatitrightgrade5@gmail.com.
