North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance
The North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance (NSWA) is a non-profit organization of over 130 members whose mission is to protect and improve water quality and ecosystems functioning in the North Saskatchewan River watershed. The NSWA consists of individual citizens and organizations representing the environment, government, industry, agriculture, aboriginal communities, education, research and tourism.
The City of Edmonton, through Drainage Services, is a sponsor of NSWA, supporting the community's ability to make informed decisions concerning watershed protection and the integrated stewardship of land and water resources.
The State of the Watershed Report is the foundation for an integrated watershed management plan. The report discusses the status of land use, water quality and quantity, as well as biological diversity in the North Saskatchewan River watershed.
A draft of Integrated Watershed Management Plan has just been completed. You can read about what Albertans and Edmontonians can do for the North Saskatchewan River Watershed in NSWA’s Discussion Paper for the Development of an Integrated Watershed Management Plan for the North Saskatchewan River in Alberta.
