Mill Creek Spill Containment Facility
The Mill Creek Spill Containment Facility involves a large revolving belt that skims oil off the water surface and squeezes it into a tank for subsequent disposal.
A key component of the Environmental Management System, the oil separator gives Drainage Services the ability to continuously intercept contaminants, regardless of the source, and greatly reduce their chances of entering Mill Creek or the North Saskatchewan River.
It also provides the potential to identify contaminants and determine their source, assisting to identify those who continue to dump illegally into Mill Creek.
