Commercial & Institutional
The commercial and institutional sector accounts for approximately one-third of Edmonton's total greenhouse gas emissions. Within the sector, 60% of the emissions are attributable to electrical use, 26% to natural gas and the remaining 14% to fuel, mostly for transportation purposes.

That's why the involvement of the commercial and institutional sector is vital to the success of the CO2RE initiative. Participants have the opportunity to benefit in many ways, including the knowledge that they are continuing to make Edmonton a great place to live and do business.
Mission
To encourage all organizations within the commercial and institutional sector to maximize greenhouse gas emissions reduction by improving energy efficiencies, adapting to the use of alternative fuels and technologies and long-term, sustainable resource use, leading to appropriate cost-efficiencies.Funding Opportunities
