In order to recognize the many environmental champions of our corporation, the City of Edmonton has created the Charles Labatiuk Award for Environmental Excellence.This award recognizes the many environmental champions of our corporation in three areas: environmental leadership, environmental innovation and continual environmental improvement.

About the Award
The award is named in honour of the late Charles Labatiuk, Ph.D., P.Eng. Charles was a longtime employee of the City of Edmonton and a passionate environmentalist. His many accomplishments included a key role in the development and implementation of the Waste Management Branch's ISO 14001 environmental management system.
