Environmental Release/Spill Reporting
It is important to report spills that you may discover to ensure that the spill is stopped, the appropriate clean-up is completed and the environment is protected. Please report spills of any substance that does not appear to be part of the natural environment.
Note: If you are a contractor, please see Contractor Environmental Responsibilities. If you are a City of Edmonton employee, refer to the City procedures on the Intranet (ecity) site.
How to report a spill?
Call 9-1-1 to report spills. Edmonton Fire Rescue Services will be dispatched to control and clean-up the spill.
Note: If the spill has happened in the past and you want to ensure appropriate clean-up of the land, call Alberta Environment at 1-800-222-6514.
