Mosquito & Pesticide Spray Program

Parks Branch starts the annual mosquito program in mid-April, which includes the following:

Twelve operations crew who pro-actively work to treat development habitat in and around the City of Edmonton

Five laboratory techs who work to monitor mosquito populations and diversity, as well as precipitation levels and distribution.

Parks Branch will be bringing in two contract helicopters at the start of the season.

The Spray Line

During spray season,  starting in mid-April, you may access a recording of detailed information on daily spraying activities through out the city by calling the SPRAY LINE at 780-423-1378.

  • For information relating to spraying south of the North Saskatchewan River, choose option 1.
  • For information relating to spraying north of the North Saskatchewan River, and west of 97th Avenue, choose option 2.
  • For information relating to spraying north of the North Saskatchewan River, and east of 97th Avenue choose option 3.
  • For information relating to city wide spray programs, choose option 4.
You may press * to return to the previous menu, or select 0 to be transferred to a 311 Agent.

All pest control products and procedures used meet strict standards established by Health Canada through the Pest Control Products Act and are considered safe for these types of applications. Employees are trained and certified by Alberta Environment and meet stringent standards in the method of application.
