Litter Management Program

Litter is an ongoing issue in many communities, including Edmonton.

Capital City Clean Up continues to focus on litter reduction and prevention efforts in 2009. The program was developed by the City of Edmonton to help keep our city clean and attractive.

Partnered with community groups and businesses, we continue to showcase Edmonton as Alberta's Capital City.

Please help us keep Edmonton looking beautiful by doing the following:

  • Carrying your garbage with you until you find the next waste receptacle.
  • If you see litter, take a few seconds to pick it up.
  • Teach children not to litter by setting a good example.
  • If you smoke, please be considerate and discard your cigerrette butts in a proper ashtray or use a personal ashtray instead.

Edmontonians can also do their part to keep Edmonton clean by joining the Adopt-A-Block program.

How does the Adopt-A-Block program work?

We are delighted so many dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers have joined us to do their part to keep Edmonton clean in 2009. Thank you!
