Giants of Edmonton

Mural Program

Property owners can celebrate the best about this city with a Giants of Edmonton mural on their buildings, and help fight graffiti at the same time.

Because graffiti vandals generally leave outdoor artwork alone, the Graffiti Management Program (GMP), in conjunction with 630 CHED radio, developed the Giants as a way of honouring Edmonton’s best, beautifying the city, and deterring graffiti.

How it Works

Radio listeners of 630 CHED recommend and vote on-line for outstanding Edmonton people, places, or things as subjects for the murals.

The GMP organizes the artist(s), pays for the mural, and for three years of mural maintenance.

The property owner supplies a wall with at least 37m2 (400 sq. ft.) space and promises to keep the mural on the wall for a minimum of three years and maintain it after that time.
