Development Permits and Licences
The City issues permits and licences for the development, construction and use of all commercial, industrial, institutional or residential properties and buildings. The permits set standards for the health and safety of the citizens of Edmonton and ensure Edmonton's reputation as a great place to live, work and do business.
Permit and licence approvals are made based on legislation from the Municipal Government Act, Municipal Bylaws, the Edmonton Zoning Bylaw and the Alberta Building Code. Additional information about Development Permits and Licences can be found under the Bylaws & Licences section.
Land Development Applications
The City of Edmonton's Current Planning Branch has a web-based application process for all applications processed by the branch. The online application process is known as the Land Development Application (LDA) process.
