Where to Vote Information Delivered to Every Home
October 06, 2010
Every household in Edmonton will soon receive a Where to Vote notice that tells residents where to find their voting station on Election Day, Monday, October 18, 2010 and who the candidates are in their area. All notices should arrive in mailboxes by October 14, 2010.
“This notice makes it easy for voters to see which ward they live in under the new 12 ward system,” says Alayne Sinclair, Returning Officer. “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to know where to vote for their choice for mayor, one councillor and one school board trustee.”
“I would like to remind everyone that under the new 12 ward system, voters now vote for one councillor in each ward,” adds Alayne.
Edmontonians can also find out where to vote by logging onto www.edmonton.ca/election and clicking on the Where to Vote application, or by calling 780-442-VOTE (8683).
The Where to Vote notice reminds voters they must bring identification when they go to vote. Visit www.edmonton.ca/election for a complete list of accepted identifications or call 780-442-VOTE (8683).
Voting opportunities will be available to residents in many seniors’ lodges and nursing homes. Residents of these facilities will receive Where to Vote notices of voting dates and times specific to their locations.
Advance Voting for Edmonton voters continues at City Hall this week and next. This Saturday, October 9 Advance Voting stations are open in each of the 12 wards. Check www.edmonton.ca/election or call 780-442-VOTE (8683) for voting station locations.
