Edmontonians encouraged to give sustainable transportation a try
During National Environment Week, May 30 - June 5, the City of Edmonton encourages you to participate in the Commuter Challenge.
The choice is yours: cycle, walk, carpool, ride transit, jog or rollerblade for just one day this week. You will make your city proud but, most of all, you will make yourself proud. The City of Edmonton strives to be an environmentally sustainable community–the Commuter Challenge brings us one big step closer to achieving this vision.
The benefits are endless. You will protect the environment, save money and get in the best shape of your life. Stop driving alone and choose a sustainable mode of transportation.
Dozens of organizations have already signed up. The workplaces and cities with the highest percentage of healthier commuters are declared the winners but really, everyone wins!
In 2009, the City of Edmonton ranked fifth overall. This year, let’s achieve our highest participation rates yet. Challenge yourself to make a real difference!

Let’s work together to make Edmonton an environmentally sustainable city.
