Support Edmonton’s Firefighters in their Fight Against Muscular Dystrophy

March 09, 2010

Five local firefighters will camp out on the roof of a fire hall to help make a difference in the lives of people with Muscular Dystrophy.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services and the Edmonton Fire Fighters Union Local 209 are teaming up for the 2010 Firefighters Rooftop Campout fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

Councillor Linda Sloan and Councillor Armajeet Sohi will join them for part of the fundraiser. The annual fundraiser pits Edmonton firefighters against members of St Albert’s fire service, as well as firefighters in Strathcona County. All three groups are aiming to raise a total of $120,000 to support Muscular Dystrophy research and services for families and individuals affected by the disease. Last year Edmonton firefighters raised $57,000.

Edmontonians can help the campaign by making a donation in one of three ways:

  1. Bring your donation to the rooftop campsite at the Downtown Station (10217 107 St) between March 9 and March 12
  2. Take your donation to any fire station in Edmonton
  3. Make an online donation
