Remember Your Loved Ones this Holiday Season with the Tree of Memories
November 12, 2010
The holidays can be a difficult time for those dealing with loss of a loved one.
This year Beechmount Cemetery invites members from the community to celebrate the lives of loved ones by visiting the Tree of Memories between November 15 and December 25.
Thousands of beautiful blue lights will shine from this large, magnificent tree, symbolizing the spirits and memories of those who have gone before us.
During the holiday season, families and friends can place their own special Christmas ornaments on the trees as a way to remember. This small act can create a new way of celebrating the life of the person who has died.
To place an ornament on the tree, visit Beechmount Cemetery at 12420 - 104 Street, during the daylight hours between November 15 and December 25 and place an ornament on the tree in the location you desire.
Given the unpredictability of winter weather conditions, you may wish to refrain from using ornaments which have strong sentimental memories or are very valuable.
Please retrieve the ornament before January 15, 2011 if you wish to keep it to place on your own tree in the future.
