National Aboriginal Day Celebrated with a Week of Free Cultural Events

Songs, dances, arts and crafts, teepee villages, kids’ activities, bannock and more will be featured at the Provincial Legislature Grounds on June 19 to mark the start of National Aboriginal Day festivities in Edmonton.

National Aboriginal Day is June 21, but the celebration is over a week long with events happening until June 27. Official Aboriginal Day ceremonies will happen at Canada Place on June 21. National Aboriginal Day celebrations are a time for all Canadians to recognize the diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
