Visit Edmonton Waste Management Centre’s open house - September 25
It was once a landfill. Now, it’s the Edmonton Waste Management Centre, a collection of world-leading waste management facilities.
The City of Edmonton hosts a second open house at the facility on Saturday September 25. Visitors can enjoy a free guided tour of the 200-hectare site and see what happens to their waste and recyclables. Tours start every 15 minutes from 9am to 5pm and last one and a half hours.
Parking is limited on site. A free shuttle bus service to the site is available from Commonwealth Stadium LRT Station parking lot (east side of stadium) every half hour from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Donations for the food bank will also be accepted. The first open house, held June 12, attracted more than 1,000 visitors.
