Discover what life was like for Edmontonians during times of conflict and how they gave thanks and celebrated in times of peace during this special theme day at Fort Edmonton Park.

In the 1846 Fort, learn about the feud between the Hudson’s Bay Company and the rival Northwest Company. Experience the role Edmonton played in overseas conflicts and how the city enjoyed the prosperous years of the early twentieth century on 1905 Street. On 1920 Street, you’ll meet a soldier from the Great War and witness a city and a nation proudly take its place on the world’s stage.

Interact with interpreters throughout Fort Edmonton Park about the themes of war and peace in Edmonton’s history. Meet a member of the fledgling Edmonton Police Department, take part in recruit trench attack training, and listen to a live interview with famous pilot, “Wop” May. Watch out for the rumble between the Carnies and the Townies on the Midway!
