City of Edmonton Launches New Way to Find City Jobs

The City of Edmonton has launched a new recruiting website that takes advantage of web technology and groups jobs by profession in “talent hubs,” making them easier to search.

Job seekers can find out about working for the City of Edmonton at www.cityofedmontonjobs.ca or www.edmonton.ca/careers.

The City of Edmonton is the only municipality in Canada taking the talent hub approach.

“The talent hub website helps people visualize themselves in careers with the City of Edmonton because it has our employees telling their stories about why the City is a great place to work,” says Carter Einhorn, Director of Recruitment. “The videos and written testimonials on www.cityofedmontonjobs.ca let job seekers see, hear and read straight from the people doing the work, which is much more informative than reading a job description.”

One message that comes across from the employees is that they are proud of the contribution they make to the day-to-day lives of Edmonton’s residents.  They also emphasise that there is a great possibility of advancement and of moving to different job areas within the City of Edmonton’s broad range of careers.

The site will continue to grow as new information is added.
