Choosing a Route for the Northwest LRT

June 17, 2010

The City of Edmonton has completed the evaluation for the Northwest LRT extension. A public hearing into the route selection will be held.

Date:  Tuesday, June 22
Time:  9:30am – 5:30 pm
Location: City Hall, Council Chambers

The Northwest LRT would run from the future NAIT station to a park and ride facility planned at the northwest city limits.

The Transportation Department has recommended the 113A Street Corridor, using 153 Avenue, for the Northwest LRT extension.

City Council will make a final decision on the route selected.

Anyone wishing to speak at the public hearing must register in advance by visiting www.edmonton.ca/meetings, calling 780-496-8178 or in person at the Office of the City Clerk, 3rd floor, City Hall. Comments can also be e-mailed or faxed.

In preparation for the public hearing, public consultation has continued. Information sessions have been held to share more details on the evaluation process and the recommended corridor. Info sessions documentation and public hearing report are available at www.edmonton.ca/lrtprojects.
