Build your City with LEGO®

November 16, 2010

City staff are using LEGO® to help residents learn about Edmonton’s Transportation Master Plan The Way We Move. The result – a LEGO® model of what Edmonton could look like in the future – is now on display at the TELUS World of Science.

Engineers and planners included principles from The Way We Move in the LEGO® display. They volunteered their time to build the display.

Edmontonians are encouraged to add to the LEGO® display by taking part in a contest November 20-21. Anything can be built that will advance the vision of The Way We Move – a building, a vehicle, a bike or a park.

Date:  November 20-21, 2010
Time:  10am – 5pm
(Presentations by City staff:  Noon and 2pm)
Location:  TELUS World of Science, 11211-142 Street

City staff will explain how transportation is more than just moving people and how it is essential infrastructure that shapes our city, impacts our sustainability and influences our economic well-being.

The displays will be judged by a panel of city staff and city councillors at 3:30pm on Sunday, November 21.
