Be a Safer Boater This Summer

Summer temperatures have arrived, which means citizens and visitors alike are heading to the river valley to enjoy the water. The City of Edmonton reminds everyone to be careful when boating on the North Saskatchewan or using a trail or park beside the river.
Safety tips:
- Call 911 immediately if you see or hear an emergency happening on the river.
- Follow all regulations related to operating a boat.
- Always wear a life jacket when operating a boat.
- Never mix alcohol and boating.
- Check weather reports before taking a boat on the river.
- Keep your pet on a leash when walking near the river.
- Teach your children about water safety.
Citizens are asked to call 311 to report a trail that has been affected by high water levels.
