Attention History Buffs! City Cemetery Tours are Back

Did you ever wonder where some of Edmonton’s founders or dignitaries are buried? A Walk Through Time – City Cemetery Tours are back at the three heritage cemeteries this summer. Tours are 90 minutes and cost $5 (historical tour booklet included).
Edmonton Cemetery Tour (118 St.-107 Ave.)
Enjoy a guided tour of Edmonton’s first and oldest cemetery. This site has many of the city’s oldest and most architecturally diverse monuments, and is where many of the city’s original settlers are buried. Tours run Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm:

Mount Pleasant Cemetery Tour (5420-106 St.)
Enjoy a tour of this hill-top graveyard, which offers commanding views of the south side and downtown. Mt. Pleasant Cemetery features many prominent members of the former town of Strathcona, each contributing to the history of the turn-of-the-century boomtown. Tours run Thursdays from 7-8:30pm:

Beechmount Cemetery Tour (12420-104 St.)
With its tree-lined roadways, impressive salute to veterans and many monuments representing a variety of languages and religious backgrounds, Beechmount Cemetery demonstrates the strength of Edmonton’s multicultural community. Tours run Tuesdays from 7-8:30pm:
