Make a Difference Today: Become a Special Needs Volunteer Assistant
October 15, 2009
Every day Edmontonians volunteer their time to make a great city.
But for some Edmontonians, like those with special needs, finding volunteer opportunities can be difficult.
The City of Edmonton has developed a new pilot program to help change that. Under the program, volunteers with special needs are paired up with volunteer assistants to help and support them during their volunteer activities at City of Edmonton attractions and recreation facilities.
The City now needs six individuals for this program that will build, inspire and grow the skills and confidence of volunteers with special needs.
People with an interest in working with diverse groups, strong communication and mediation skills and a flexible schedule should apply. Successful applicants will receive high quality training and professional development opportunities.
Apply today. Deadline is November 13, 2009.
