The Way We Live: Edmonton's People Plan will advance The Way Ahead: City of Edmonton Strategic Plan 2009-2018 and complement the following:
- The Way We Grow - Municipal Development Plan (MDP)
- The Way We Move - Transportation Master Plan (TMP)
- The Way We Green - Environmental Sustainability Plan (ESP)
