Community Facilities Services is committed to creating vibrant places in Edmonton by developing, managing, animating, and preserving recreation facilities.
Branch Services
Stewardship
Stewardship is responsible for environmental management, emergency preparedness, major events and operations for Commonwealth Stadium, and operational model development for both the Terwillegar and North Central Community Recreation Centres.
Programs and Events
Programs and Events aims to enrich quality of life, embrace wellness, and provide personal growth and development opportunities across all age groups. This section is responsible for experiences such as active living and wellness, skill development, events and leisure, City Archivist (educational), and operations for the Kinsmen Sports Centre.
Customer Relationship Management
Customer Relationship Management is the first direct contact for current and future customers. The section is responsible for facility bookings and rentals, admissions, program registrations, and the Leisure Access Program. This section is also the broker of new revenue opportunities, Grow the Business initiatives, and branch accountability functions.
Partner and Facility Development
Partner and Facility Development builds relationships and agreements with partner organizations to deliver the best possible services to citizens and visitors. The section is responsible for maintaining current facilities, and planning and developing new ones. They are also the Sport Development/Liaisons for all of Community Facility Services.
Recreation and Leisure Centres
Recreation and Leisure Centres is responsible for all arena and aquatic operations throughout the city, including the Terwillegar Community Recreation Centre. These facilities serve as community hubs, bringing people together in welcoming and vibrant settings
Horticultural Facilities
Horticultural Facilities operates the Muttart Conservatory, Riverside, and Rundle Golf Courses, Victoria Golf Course and Driving Range, and City cemeteries.
Valley Zoo
This section is responsible for operating the Edmonton Valley Zoo, John Walter Museum, and the John Janzen Nature Centre, as well as managing veterinarian services for the zoo and nature centre. With the primary focus on conservation, these attractions provide an enriching and educational experience for Edmontonians and tourists.
