Each year citizens are appointed to approximately 20 agencies, boards, committees, commissions, and task forces.
Council values the input of citizens appointed to these boards. Whether advisory, decision-making, quasi-judicial, or governing, all provide citizens with an opportunity to participate in the present and future direction of the city.
The Office of the City Clerk oversees board-member recruitment, appointments, and training; as well as the establishment and classification of new boards, and assists Council in developing guidelines for the agencies.
