2010 Pilot LTEL Initiative
Lost your iphone on the bus? The relatively small, but meaningful, 2010 pilot LTEL project – a replacement for Edmonton Transit System's electronic Lost and Found system – now improves how the city gets it back to you.
The pilot project was presented to interested members of Edmonton's IT community by the City of Edmonton and TEC Edmonton on November 17, 2009. Representatives from the City’s IT Branch and Deputy City Manager’s Office were on hand, along with representatives from TEC Edmonton, to answer questions and discuss the opportunity in greater detail.
The LTEL pilot project attracted 14 applications from Edmonton's vibrant IT community. A review panel comprised of City business and IT staff and TEC Edmonton business analysts narrowed the field down to six finalists in early January 2010. All of the finalists presented their proposed solutions to the review panel on January 28, 2010.
After much deliberation, the proposal presented by an Edmonton e-commerce company called Hybrid Forge was announced as the winning solution on February 4, 2010. The other finalists, along with Hybrid Forge, were Aldata, Aurora Bar Code, Damaag, Stage 2 and XEA Services.
“This is an excellent opportunity for us and we are excited about forging this relationship with City of Edmonton and TEC Edmonton” said Geoff Kliza, President of Hybrid Forge.
Read full details on Hybrid Forge’s solution, which began its implementation in March 2010 and went live in January 2011.
