Construction of the Animal Care and Control Centre is now underway. We will put regular updates and photos of the construction on this page so you can see the progress.

Building Partially Enclosed - December 2009

Work continues to go smoothly this winter. Part of the building now has outer walls.

Foundation Poured and Building Taking Form - October 2009

Through the summer, construction crews cleared the land, installed the utilities, and poured a foundation for the new Animal Care and Control Centre. The building is also now starting to take form.

Ground Breaking Ceremony - May 15, 2009

MP Brent Brent Rathgeber and MLA Naresh Bhardwaj joined Councillors Linda Sloan, Tony Caterina, and Karen Leibovici to officially start construction of the City's new Animal Care and Control Centre.

The event was attended by dignitaries from the City of Edmonton, rescue groups, pet industry stakeholders, and people involved in the building construction.
