General Enforcement

Where citizen activities or property conditions don't meet acceptable municipal standards, Municipal Enforcement Officers provide education, warnings, inspections, and apply penalties.
Municipal Enforcement Officers work with citizens in neighbourhoods and business communities to ensure that Edmonton's basic community standards are maintained to a reasonable level.
Community standards are the rules that are in place to help us live together in harmony. The City of Edmonton encourages safety, cleanliness, and livability at the neighbourhood level.
Municipal Enforcement Officers enforce bylaws to deal with common complaints such as:
- Noise
- Recreational Vehicle Parking
- Sidewalk Snow Removal
- Signs
- Nuisance Properties
- Garbage Storage
- Minimum Maintenance of Buildings
- Boulevard Concerns
- Weeds
