Trail Caution - Wedgewood Ravine Trail

The Wedgewood Ravine paved trail between the communities of Wedgewood and Cameron Heights has a rather significant ice flow that crosses the entire trail for approximately 50 meters. The trail is still passable in both directions but requires some Caution. Operations will be sanding this section of trail commencing today on an ongoing basis.

Caution - Whitemud Park at Fox Drive

Construction of the new amenities building at Whitemud Park is underway. The parking lot south of the Campbell Bridge is not available for public parking. The building site and parking lot have been fenced in. Public access will be kept open to allow pedestrians to go under the Campbell Bridge to the footbridge over Whitemud Creek and the granular trail. Access to the stairs up to Grandview Heights will remain open as well. Signage is in place to ensure safe pedestrian passage through this area. Scheduled completion of this project is December 2011.

Trail Caution -  Dawson Park

The construction of the sewer works Has been completed. The disturbed area in the construction zone is set to be restored. The length of time to complete the landscaping work is weather dependent, but will be completed through the remainder of the summer months.

Trail Closure - Forest Heights

The lower granular trail in Forest Heights Park is closed indefinitely due to the severe slump/erosion issues that are happening. There are two substantial cracks about 8 to 12 inches wide and about 2 to 3 feet deep extending across the majority of the trail. The trail is closed from the Riverside Golf Course Parking lot entrance to the gravel trail entrance, part way down the paved trail from 101 Avenue and 84 Street.
