Stormwater Lakes - Conditions of Use
- Any activities that may result in direct contact with the water are prohibited, including swimming, wading, fishing, board-sailing, water skiing, kayaking, scuba diving and any use of inner tubes and small inflatables. (Exception: employees or agents of the City performing maintenance duties. )
- Certain activities that do not involve direct contact are allowed, including boating in boats propelled by human effort (such as paddle boats, rubber rafts and canoes). Note: Instructional classes for beginners or inexperienced boaters are prohibited.
- Users assume all risk.
- Children should be supervised.
- Use or operation of motor-powered boats is restricted to scale model reproductions under 10 kilograms in weight. These may be operated only between 10am and 10pm. (Employees or agents of the City are exempt when engaged in quality monitoring, facility operation or maintenance. )
- Sailboats are prohibited.
- Posted signs will restrict access to all users, including boaters, when a lake is being treated with herbicides for algae control. Restrictions will remain in effect for 48 hours after treatment.
- Vehicle access is prohibited. Vehicles must remain on public roadways at all times including during boat launch.
- Use of lakes permitted from the first morning of the Victoria Day weekend until the end of Thanksgiving Day.
- These conditions are not permanent policy and may be subject to revision.
