The City of Edmonton is working on three integrated initiatives for Argyll Park.

The City of Edmonton will be consulting with community and stakeholders to determine their recreational needs at the Bonnie Doon Campus Park site. This information will be used to develop a site plan for the district park site

Borden Park Revitalization Plan

Borden Park is unique as one of the few City Level Parks in the City of Edmonton. The park has served Edmonton's families for 100 years. The Community Services Department and Asset Management and Public Works Department are working on a Revitalization Plan that will see Borden Park's legacy continue for many years to come.

Buena Vista and Sir Wilfrid Laurier Parks Trails and Public Use Management Plan

The City of Edmonton is creating a 10-year plan to guide the management and use of Buena Vista and Sir Wilfrid Laurier Parks. Stakeholder groups and the public are being consulted in order to help develop the plan. The 10-year plan will address:

  • park operations and management
  • visitor use
  • park infrastructure and amenities
  • park trails, paths, signage and roadways

Cumberland Bio-Swale

The City of Edmonton Drainage Services Department, Parks Design and Construction and River Valley Forestry and Environmental Services are working together to construct the Cumberland Bio-Swale, located in the Altalink corridor between 127th Street & 134th Street. The bio-swale is meant to alleviate some of the storm water drainage concerns in the area while providing a natural habitat for residents to enjoy.

To enhance Edmonton's extensive trail system by creating a key link between the north and south sides of the river.

John Fry Sports Site Master Plan

John Fry is an important venue for major regional and national sports events. It contains ball diamonds and rugby fields.

Mill Woods Sports Site Master Plan

Mill Woods Park is a community focal point containing many amenities including: 2 high schools, Mill Woods Recreation Centre, spray park, ball diamonds, soccer and football fields, tennis courts, cricket pitch, a skateboard park and picnic sites.

Recreation and Parks Planning Study, South Whitemud Ravine

The purpose of this study was to provide recommendations and an implementation strategy for future recreational development within the upper reaches of the Whitemud Ravine Nature Reserve. The study included three main components: an environmental review, conceptual planning for the ravine trail system, and planning and conceptual design for long term use of the Klondike Valley campground lands.

To establish publicly supported goals for the development and management of our Ribbon of Green.

Terwillegar Park Conceptual Planning

The Terwillegar Park Concept Plan Report will be presented to the City of Edmonton Transportation and Public Works Committee of Council on Tuesday January 27, 2009 at 9:30am at City Hall. If you wish to speak to the report, you can register to speak. If you would like to review the concept plan being presented, please visit the Terwillegar Park project website. The Executive Summary Report will be posted in the afternoon on Thursday January 22.

Urban Parks Management Plan

The Urban Parks Management Plan (UPMP) guides the acquisition, development, maintenance, preservation and use of parkland in 2006-2016. It provides strategic direction for all river valley and ravine parkland as well as all school and park sites outside the river valley.

Whitemud Park Integrated Plan

The Whitemud Park Integrated Plan, approved by Council in 2003, is a comprehensive plan for the area including: Fort Edmonton Park, John Janzen Nature Centre, the Whitemud Equine Centre and Whitemud Park.
