Park Patrol

Volunteer park patrollers are public contacts who assist with preventive enforcement. They are not enforcement officers.

Work with the Community Services' Park Ranger Unit.
Patrol the river valley parks and trails (observe, report and record). Provide parking/crowd control at events.
Conduct information and public safety programs.
Know about the river valley parks.
Wear the uniform provided while on duty.
Attend all training.

Time Commitment

At least one 2-hour shift per week (weekdays or weekends) to patrol park. You may request extra shifts (minimum 2 weeks' notice).
At least one 3. 5-hour shift per month (mostly weekends) as event/program support. You may request extra shifts (minimum 2 weeks' notice).

Requirements

You are at least 18 years old and interested in park programs and event support. We also need

Driver's abstract stating that you have no more than four demerits when you apply.
Resume and references.
Criminal records check.
