John Fry Sport Park
John Fry Park is a staffed multi-use ball park facility. It is a world class ball facility that has hosted numerous World Class and Canadian Championship level events. The 27.5 ha (68 ac) parkland site is located in south Edmonton between 28 Avenue and 31 Avenue. No dogs please
Park History
Officially named on November 27, 1979, in recognition of John Wesley Fry (1876-1946); Mayor 1937-1945; Alderman 1932-1936
During this time he played a significant role in devising a plan to refinance Edmonton’s debt during the final bleak years of the Great Depression and guiding Edmonton through WWII.1

Some of the organized sports clubs currently have lease arrangements with the City for preferential use of the site but the general public may also book the fields when available.
An additional 4.6 ha parcel within the site has been identified for a potential future recreational facility.Park Pavilion (under construction)

Other Facilities
City of Edmonton Parks South satellite operations yard is located adjacent to the site. Several light industrial businesses are located to the north, west, and east.
