What i do
I help the primate staff feed, clean, and entertain our cousins.
Where i do it
I volunteer at the Valley Zoo.

It is living a dream being around lemurs and monkeys. Feeding them by hand, having them sit on my shoulder, playing patty cake with Raul the Spider monkey. There are so many, many parts of my volunteer work that I cherish. I take a lot of pride that the Valley Zoo allows me to help with these incredible animals.

Only the cold trip in winter from the main building to the lemurs and pandas.
Why i Volunteer
At first it was just to be around the animals, now though, I feel I make a difference (albeit small) in freeing up time for the keepers so they may enrich the lives of the animals at the Valley Zoo. I have a great deal of regard for the Zoo Keepers dedication and unselfishness. The City is indeed fortunate to have such people working at the Valley Zoo.

I volunteer to help out and I like to play and interact with all the little kids in the Kids Zone .

Commissary volunteer- I cut up fruits and vegetables to make diets for animals at the zoo and then help the night keeper put the animals to bed.
