River City Round Up
Kick-Off Celebration
November 5, 2011 from 10am–7pm at Churchill Square
Sir Winston Churchill Square is the place to be on Saturday, November 5th as we kick off a 10-day, city-wide celebration of Edmonton’s western and agricultural heritage.
The fun begins at 10am with vendors from the popular City Market Downtown in City Hall and continues out in the Square at 11:45am with FREE activities and entertainment for the entire family, including hayrides, pony rides, square dancers, singers, kids’ games and crafts, story telling and more!
Don’t miss the action at 12:15pm as the River City Round Up Caravan, made up of over 30 wagons and 20 outriders makes its way into the Square.
Bring a Food Bank donation and receive a ticket to get your photo taken in western wear and a FREE print!
The day will wrap up with a spectacular fireworks show on the Square at approximately 6:45pm.
Ride from Coliseum to Churchill Station for Free
Travel for FREE on the LRT (between Coliseum and Churchill Stations only). Saturday November 5, 2011 between 9:30am and 8pm.
Caravan Route
- The River City Round Up Caravan will start at 97 Street and 102 Avenue
- Travelling west on 102 Avenue to 101 Street
- From there, it will move north on 101 Street to 102A Avenue
- Where it will turn east and travel along 102A Avenue to 100 Street
- The caravan will then head south on 100 Street back to 102 Avenue
- Where the wagons and riders will continue east on their way back to 97 Street

Road Closures
There will be a series of brief road closures as the River City Round Up Caravan travels through city streets to Sir Winston Churchill Square. Temporary traffic delays may be experienced. Check here for more information about road closures.
