Catering Services

Culina Catering, our new exclusive* in-house caterer, has been rooted in Edmonton since 2004. Culina offers full service catering from smaller intimate gatherings to traditional-sized weddings, corporate events and cocktail receptions with delicious customized menus. Culina Catering has built long term relationships with locally sourced food suppliers and proudly supports Alberta producers such as Gull Valley Greenhouse, Irving’s Farm Fresh Pork, Four Whistle Farm and Little Bear Gelato to name a few.

Service of Alcohol

All aspects of the sale and service of alcohol will be coordinated through Culina Catering. If alternative bartending options are requested, Culina catering will work with the group to ensure an appropriate licensed bartending company is selected. A valid private re-sale or non-sale license is required for groups purchasing and bringing in their own alcohol. Corkage fees will apply.

Catering Services

Clients may select the caterer of their choice. Your Booking and Rental Representative can provide you with a list of caterers that are familiar with the facility.  

Note: If you are interested in using a caterer that has not catered an event at the Armouries, arrangements need to be made for a facility orientation with one of our Facility Representatives.

Bar Service

With consent from your Facility Representative and a valid liquor permit, alcohol can be served at your event, provided it is handled by individuals that have Pro-Serve.

Public Spaces

Heritage Amphitheatre

Catering Services

Clients are welcome to use any caterer of their choice as we do not impose any restrictions. However, it is required that you register your event with the Alberta Health Services (AHS). The Alberta Health Services application should be returned to the Environmental Health Office. You can contact AHS at 780-735-1800 and fax applications to 780-444-6784.

Bar Service

A liquor license from the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) is required for your event. Homemade wine, beer or cider must not be served, consumed or allowed on the licensed premises.

Gazebos, Bandshell and Open Parkland

Catering Services

Catering/Food Vendor Approval is required. It must be requested a minimum of 14 business days prior to your event. The caterer/vendor must have a current City of
Edmonton business license, current Food Handling Permit and insurance. 

Bar Service

The use or consumption of liquor is not permitted.

Recreation Centres

Catering Services

You are welcome to use any caterer of your choice, or do a pot-luck event. 

Bar Service

With consent from your facility representative and a valid liquor permit, alcohol can be served at your event, provided it is handled by individuals that have pro-serve. Failure to display the liquor permit will prohibit the service and consumption of alcohol. Service of all alcohol must end one hour prior to the end of your booked time. For information on the permits required for your event, please contact the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission at 780-447-8600.

Central Lions Recreation Centre

Catering Services

All caterers must be self-sufficient. The facilities are not equipped for food preparation. With the exception of outdoor barbequing in a designated area, no food can be cooked on site. The client or caterer is responsible for providing the barbeque.

We offer two options for catering your event.

Option 1: You can use our on-site caterers, Ela Euro Catering.

Option 2: You can use a caterer of your choice.

Note: If you are interested in using a caterer who has not catered an event at the facility, arrangements need to be made for a facility orientation with one of our facility representatives.

Licensees who wish to serve alcohol must obtain the consent of the Facility Representative, a liquor permit and have it displayed in the bar area. All liquor services must be handled by trained alcohol service providers. Failure to display the alcohol permit means that alcohol cannot be served. Alcohol service must finish an hour before the end time of the event and follow the guidelines of the liqour permit in all other matters. The overnight storage of liquor at the Facility is not permitted.

Northgate Lions Recreation Centre

Catering Services

All caterers must be self-sufficient. The facilities are not equipped for food preparation.

Option 2: You can use a caterer of your choice.

Note: If you are interested in using a caterer who has not catered an event at the facility, arrangements need to be made for a facility orientation with one of our facility representatives.

Licensees who wish to serve alcohol must obtain the consent of the Facility Representative, a liquor permit and have it displayed in the bar area. All liquor services must be handled by trained alcohol service providers. Failure to display the alcohol permit means that alcohol cannot be served. Alcohol service must finish an hour before the End Time of the event and follow the guidelines of the liquor permit in all other matters. The overnight storage of liquor at the Facility is not permitted. 

Specialty Facilities

Alfred H. Savage Centre

Catering Services

Clients are welcome to use any caterer of their choice as we do not impose any restrictions nor do we have catering surcharges. You will need to confirm with your caterer that any supplies and/or equipment they needs to be dropped off or picked up will have to be done during the times of your rental as the facility is not staffed on a regular basis. 

Bar Service

With consent from the facility representative and a valid liquor permit, alcohol can be served during your event, provided individuals that handle it have Pro-serve certification. Failure to display the liquor permit will prohibit the service and consumption of alcohol. Service of all alcohol must end one hour prior to the end of your booked time. For information on the permits required for your event, please contact the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission at 780-447-8600.

*$25.00 per hour fee for a security guard will also apply if you opt to serve alcohol at your event. 

SOCAN and Re:Sound

If you are planning a special event that includes live or recorded music of any kind, you are required to pay licence fee to SOCAN and Re-Sound. The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) and Re:Sound Music Licensing Company (Re:Sound) are collective societies. These collective societies can charge tariffs for the performance of music in public, according to section 19(2)(a) of the Copyright Act.
